For a long time, Libby, Abby and Jane dreamed of a garden party where dressmakers could meet in the sunshine over ribbon sandwiches and fancy frocks. In 2017, they made it happen with the inaugural Sew Melbourne Garden Party! A fabulous day to get dressed up, socialise and talk all things sewing, the Sew Melbourne Garden Party is now an annual event not to be missed.

The Sew Melbourne Garden Party has in the past been held at the Stapley Pavilion in Kings Domain, part of the Botanical Gardens precinct. Pack a picnic and your favourite rug or chair and we’ll provide the music, games and great company.

For 2026, we are trying something different and will be hosting the Garden Party at the Studley Park Boathouse.

Parking is available in the main parking area, off Boathouse Rd (located next to the Studley Park Boathouse and picnic area). Additional parking is available further up on Yarra Blvd. A short walk down the hill will be required from this location.
